Sanctuary Choir

We invite you to rejoice by singing with the Sanctuary Choir. We are looking for people who have a desire to serve through music and who like to sing. Past musical experience and ability to read music are desirable, but not essential. Immediate openings are available for sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. Learning opportunities, fun and fellowship are guaranteed.

Sunday Morning Worship Services:
The Sanctuary Choir sings an anthem and leads the congregational hymns at the 9:30 and 11am traditional services each week. Choir members may choose to sing at either or both services. Choir rehearsals are held each week on Wednesday night, 7:30-9pm in the choir room.

The Early Risers Choir sings an anthem and leads the singing at the 8:15am traditional service the second Sunday of each month. Rehearsals are held in the Choir Room each week on Wednesday night, 6:30-7:15pm.

Short-term Commitments: [download form]

The Festival Choir is for singers who would like to sing with the choir for special/seasonal programs. The commitment time ranges from 6-8 weeks.

There are also Men's and Women's small ensembles throughout the year.

Extra Opportunities:

a "Meet the Composer" Weekend...
is offered each fall with a nationally known composer. The weekend typically consists of a rehearsal on Saturday morning and one on Sunday afternoon before the concert. Past composers who have led this special event at CLUMC have been Allen Pote, Lloyd Larson, Craig Courtney, and Andre Thomas. [see Composer ]

an Annual Choir Retreat ...
is offered each year where the choir meets offsite with a visiting choir clinician. Camp Allen in Navasota has been chosen in the past and is one of the choir's favorite places for retreat. This is a great opportunity to improve one's musical skill while enjoying some great fellowship.
