Interfaith Caring Ministries

Purpose:
Provides a wide spectrum of Social Services to the economically disadvantaged.

Description:
Interfaith Caring Ministries (ICM) is a 20 year-old coalition of 54 area churches addressing the needs of the economically disadvantaged of our community. In addition to dispensing funds to help with rent and/or utilities, ICM also has a full-service food pantry. Included in the services offered by ICM are a Senior Citizens program, a WIC program, children’s immunizations, and referrals to their clients as to other resources and programs available to them. ICM is located at 631 FM 270 (AKA Egret Bay), League City, TX 77573-2677. (ICM sits almost directly under a blue water tower!) 281-332-3881

Each December during the second week, ICM hosts a “Christmas Store”. During this week, clients may come and “shop” (free of charge) for Christmas gifts for their children. Extra volunteers are needed during this event.

Interfaith also runs a Resale Shop in the Black Eyed Pea parking lot at 118 W. Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 281-332-2025

Volunteer Roles:

Interfaith Caring Ministries:

» Interviewers are needed to screen prospective clients.

» Receptionists are needed to answer the incoming calls and make appointments.

» Volunteers to stock grocery shelves and fill client orders.

» Extra volunteers in December to help run the Christmas store.

ICM Resale Shop:

» Volunteers are needed to sort, price and display clothing and household items that have been donated.
Sales clerks are needed as well.
