Betty Burghduff,
Church Librarian,

"Did you hear about the kid who was asked by the teacher, Now, Bobby, tell me where elephants are found , and he replied, Elephants are so big that they are hardly ever lost."
"Maybe not elephants, but smaller things like books and religious publications are often overlooked as a tool to be used for Christian growth. Clear Lake United Methodist Church has one of the finest Church Libraries I have ever been around. I highly recommend that you use it as a tool for growth and enrichment in your personal life."

Church Resource Library
Turning Pages ::
Your Church Library is undergoing great improvements! As you know, we have converted to an automated system for cataloging and circulation. We have refined the system to the point that we are confident to “let go of the old.” I mean the old card catalog (see photos). After 37 years, on a historical day for us, we literally emptied the drawers of the cards and found a new home for the card cabinet.
In addition, a generous memorial donation has made possible all new professional shelf units for our middle room that match the circulation desk. In the adult non-fiction room you will see a new “rounder” for the display of our new additions. This also was donated by a “Friend of the Library” donation.
In preparation for the new shelves, and for the improvement of the age of the collection, a significant amount of withdrawals were made. We always strive to keep the collection relevant and up to date. We are moving toward more DVD’s as we are able, and withdrawing older VHS, audio tapes and filmstrips, as the media world keeps changing.

Your Church Library is TURNING OVER NEW PAGES and moving forward! Come by and “check out” all our new improvements.
