Purpose:
Children in Worship

Description:

Children in Worship
As another way to combine the influence of church and family, we want to encourage families with children and youth to worship together during the 9:30am hour. Throughout the school year, therefore, we will continue our currrent schedule of Sunday school at 11am only for children and youth. As always, care will be provided during all services for Pre-K and under and a full Sunday school curriculum is available at 11am for all ages.

CLUMC encourages all children to attend Worship Services. We want children to feel welcome in worship and because of this special emphasis, we offer both a Children's Sermon at 9:30 & 11am in Contemporary Worship and Traditional Worship. Children's Ministry offers "Worship Packs" to help children relate to the worship experience. Please remember to return packs at the end of the service.

Our Children’s Faith is ROCK SOLID - Sundays

With the goal of providing a positive church experience for your children, we are committed to making sure that happens when it comes to the worship service. During the worship time, we encourage families to be together and parents to model worshiping together. We believe that time is invaluable to your children!  Yet we think it is also appropriate to provide a worship and bible teaching experience that is more on your young child’s level.
For that reason, midway during our 9:30am worship services, we invite children K through Grade 3 to participate in Rock Solid in the Room 405 of the Flanders Building.
Children, who worship with their family in the Contemporary Worship Service and Traditional Worship Service at 9:30am, will remain with their families until the Children’s Sermon.  After that time, Kindergarten through 3rd graders will journey to Flanders 405 to experience God’s truth in ways that impact their choices and actions that is relevant to their daily lives.  Contemporary Worship Children will return to Contemporary Worship after the sermon and join their families to share in communion and the closing of worship.  Traditional Worship Children will remain in room 405 and parent will pick up their children after worship, but on the first Sunday of the month they will join their families to share in communion and the closing of worship.
