Trunk or Treat - Friday, October 31, 6-7:30pm

Come visit our Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 31, 6pm! This is safe alternative to door-to-door trick or treating! Cars will line up in the parking lot and at 6pm, Children go trunk to trunk in their Halloween costumes to play games and collect toys and treats. Free hot dogs and drinks!


FINAL DAY - Pumpkin Patch!

Come join us in the Pumpkin Patch!
Open Daily through October 31, 2014
9:30am - 7:30pm

In October, the lawn in front of the church is literally covered with pumpkins. The pumpkins are assorted sizes in a whole range of prices. All proceeds benef
it to community outreach projects. Tell all your friends to come to the Pumpkin Patch. The patch will close on October 31 at dusk unless the patch is empty of pumpkins before that hour.

All Saints' Sunday – November 2

This is the day we remember and celebrate the life of church members who have passed away over this past year. During the service, the names will be read and candles will be lit to honor their memory. Prayers will be lifted up to thank God once again for the faithfulness of all the saints who have gone before us. We hope you plan to attend this very meaningful service.


Organ Recital by Jan Jouett - Sunday, November 2

Sunday, November 2 at 7pm in the Sanctuary
Clear Lake UMC organist Jan Jouett will present an organ recital which will include works by Bach, Widor,Vierne, Holst and more. Also shown will be footage from the Hubble Telescope in conjunction with a selection from “The Planets” by Gustav Holst. This event is free and open to the public.


Youth Choir Breakfast Tacos Sale - 1st & 3rd Sundays

On the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings of the month our Youth Choir will be selling breakfast tacos. All donations will be to help reduce the costs for the 2015 Youth Choir Trip.


Monthly Hope and Healing Service - 1st Sunday/Month

Monthly Hope and Healing Service - 1st Sunday/Month

10:40am, Laffin Chapel

    We will have Hope and Healing Services in the Laffin Chapel the first Sunday of each month. Persons can come and light a candle for themselves or a loved one. They will then hear a short devotional and be invited to have persons pray with them or they can just pray on their own.
    Rev. Harold Travis will conduct the service. Come at 10:40am to receive prayers or to join others in prayer.


A Walk Through Bethlehem - Booth Sign-ups begin Sunday, November 2

6:00-8:30pm each night; Tickets: $1
Walk thru Bethlehem, December 13, 14 & 15, 6pm to 8:30pm. Tickets available at the door!

Walk through Bethlehem – Booth Sign-ups begin Sunday, November 2. You can sign up online [ ]  or you can do paper sign-ups in the Fellowship Hall November 2, 9 and 16. You can also call the Outreach Office. Connect Groups wanting to be in charge of booths for either one night or all three nights should contact Marcella, 832-240-4708, prior to November 2.

The Gathering Place - First Fridays/Month

First Friday/Month, 9:30am, Wesley Center

CLUMC in partnership with Interfaith Care Partners® invites you to The Gathering Place, a spirit-led ministry for senior adults experiencing memory loss, due to stroke, Alzheimer’s or dementia. It provides respite for families and caregivers. Meetings are the first Friday of every month. Crafts, entertainment and lunch are provided. Contact Outreach Ministry at 832-240-4708 or Marion Seymour, 281-488-4536, to learn about the enrollment process or if you are interested in volunteering.

Come join us for a movie night! Meet us in the Great Hall at 6PM.

♦ Encounter Serve – Sunday, November 16
We will be off campus serving our community on November 16. We will leave as a group from the church. Please meet us in the Student Wing at 5:45. We will leave for Brookdale Plaza Clear Lake to have an ice cream social and play board games with the residents. We will not be serving Snack Supper that night, so please come having already eaten. We will return to the church at 8.

♦ Encounter at 50th Celebration at Gateway – Sunday, November 23
We invite you, your family and your friends to come sit together as the Student Ministry as we celebrate alongside the rest of the church all that God has done over the years. This corporate worship celebration will be in place of Encounter for the night.

♦ Encounter at Walk Thru Bethlehem – Sunday, December 14

All Student Ministry Activities including Encounter, Sunday AM and MidWeek Connect Groups will take a break December 15-January 3. ​We encourage you to take this time to celebrate Christmas with your families.

♦ Christmas Party – December 7
We’re getting decked out for the holidays with a Tacky Christmas Sweater Contest. Win a prize in one of these categories: “DIY,” “Christmas Vests,” “Could Be Confused as Christmas Décor,” “Most Traditional,” and “Funniest.” We’ll also have a HUGE White Elephant Gift Exchange so bring a present and meet us in the Wesley Center, 6-8pm.

♦ Spring Break Trip Meeting – Sunday, November 30
If you’re interested in hearing about our Spring Break trip for all students, attend this meeting! It is open to both students and adults. We will be meeting in the Great Hall at 4pm. (6th-12th Grade)

♦ Volunteer: Cookies with Santa – Tuesday, December 2
It’s a great time of year to serve our church family and community! Let’s help kick off kids’ holiday season as they get to decorate cookies and meet Santa. Grab a friend to help serve and meet us in the Student Wing at 5:30pm to get directions. 

♦ Volunteer: Walk Thru Bethlehem – December 13-15
We would love for you and your family to participate with Walk Thru Bethlehem. There are several ways you can serve alongside your family and other students to help those walking through capture an idea of what the first Christmas looked like. (6th-12th Grade)

♦ Confirmation
All students are welcome to participate in Confirmation. Rev. Tony Vinson will be leading worship this Spring. It will take place within our Sunday night program, Encounter from 6-8pm. Confirmation Retreat will be on February 13-15. More information regarding our [ Confirmation ] program will be available on our website soon. We will open sign-ups on January 4 and close on February 1.

♦ Parent Meeting – Sunday, January 4 at 4pm
Denise Duke and Ashley Karlen, along with several of the Partners in Ministry for Student Ministries will be available at this meeting. We will have our Spring Calendar available as well as discuss our programs and answer any questions you may have. Meet us in the Great Hall at 4pm.

♦ Student Life Conference – February 6 & 7
We’re heading to a weekend conference to see what it means to “Stand Out.” This weekend will be jam packed with awesome teaching, music and a ton of craziness. Sign-ups will open on Sunday, January 4 and close on Sunday, January 25. (6th-12th Grade)
