But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid, for I AM WITH YOU.” - Jeremiah 1:7, 8 It is with a very mixed sense of feelings that I must announce to you that our youth director, Amanda Grubbs, is leaving our Church staff to enter into Seminary in the fall as a full time student at Brite Divinity School, TCU. Amanda has done an outstanding job with our youth over the past year, and we will certainly miss her. She has exhibited many wonderful gifts for ministry in our midst and she has used them faithfully and effectively. This has only served to confirm her sense of calling into Ordained Ministry and she has now concluded she can do no other thing than to follow that calling as she enters school as a full-time student. I have asked Rev. John Stephenson to help lead the search for the next person God is calling to Clear Lake. John is the ministerial supervisor for this area of ministry and he will work closely with the Staff Parish Relations committee and a small group of youth and youth leaders as they prayerfully begin the interview process. It is apparent to me that the Lord is blessing Clear Lake United Methodist Church. The fact that we have such a powerful setting where the Holy Spirit is moving in the hearts and lives of young persons and leading them into ministry is but one indication of that. I am convinced that God will continue to bless our Church and our youth department in the near future. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I invite each of you to continue to pray for our youth and our church as we seek to continue to have one of the most dynamic youth programs in our area. See You in Church,
