United
Methodist Women (UMW)
What is United Methodist Women?
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.
UMW is an important part of the ministry of the United Methodist Church. Through our service we touch the hearts and lives of people all over the world and in our own backyards. By supporting mission work we are truly spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.
Who are United Methodist Women?
Women like you. Women of diverse backgrounds, employed, not employed, housewives, businesswomen, single, married, divorced, young, middle-aged and older women. We are women committed to mission. You are invited to become a part of this supportive community.
Mission Information
Participation in our mission opportunities reflects our focus on social concerns involving women and children at local, national and international levels. We support the total mission of the United Methodist Church through our pledge to mission, special gifts, world thank offering and love ribbons. We also support Ronald McDonald House, Women's Shelters, UMCOR, Rainbow Ministry, Interfaith, Happy Harbor Seniors Home and many other agencies.
